Parents

This page is for the parents of lively 14- 19 year olds.

The Self Awareness programme is designed for English speaking students of 14-19 years of age.

First, Students take an online soft skills assessment,  validated by Cambridge University, and a suite of reports are generated from this.

The reports are designed for use by the student and their tutor. They help the student explore their personal learning approach and career choices, whether into employment or further and higher education.

Empowering students

The programme allows your child to understand what motivates them and how to use their natural working style to learn more effectively.  This is done using supportive language to describe and identify them, their working strengths, key motivators and how these present to other people.

This generates the increase in confidence and self esteem that comes from being more comfortable with oneself. It also helps to improve communication and understanding in the classroom.

It can do so at home... try reading through the report with your child to discuss how they see themselves and their early careers.

To find out more about the reports available, click here. To find out about our programme, follow the links for schools and FE college programme information.

No programme at your child's school or college?

If you would like to order a report for your child, please visit our shop,  where you can quickly arrange for your child to take our 'footprint' assessment and have the report(s) delivered electronically to you, together with a guide for how to interpret the reports.

Partnership with the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC)

The NAGC works with the whole family to support the child who is gifted and talented.

Self Awareness have arranged with NAGC for a bundle of our reports (Student Feedback, Approach to Learning, Approach to the World of Work and Personal Statement) to be available for parents though our shop from 11th October 2008.
